“What I particularly enjoyed about this book is how it balances the themes of loyalty, family, and honor with its strong ties to Asian cultural values. The supernatural twist midway through the book, where David begins to access his powers and confronts the Amos brothers, adds a thrilling layer to the plot that kept me hooked until the very end.”

“After about the halfway point things really took off. All of a sudden, the side characters started clicking and made sense in a way I didn’t see coming and I loved every second. Even though the pacing was well done in the first half, it picked up a notch in the second half and I felt like we were off to the races. I didn’t want to put this book down. For being an almost 500-page novel, I devoured in a day and a half because I just needed to know what happened. The magic flowed flawlessly with the theme of the book, and I didn’t feel lost reading it.
I highly recommend this book for those who love good urban fantasy books, especially those surrounding the use of magic.”Keila (read full Amazon review HERE)
“I loved seeing this epic story playing out through so many perspectives. Each person no matter how small lends to giving us a full view of this story. The quick chapters filtering between this cast was perfectly executed, though I will confess, I had my reservation on such short chapters when I began it, but as more characters came in, I found this was the best way to deliver the story. All the characters’ journeys were interwoven so perfectly. I love the fantastical elements to the story, I loved that it was being set up kind of subtly till boom it impacted the characters lives in a big way.”
